Mike's Wishlist
People often complain that it's hard to buy prezzies for me. So, I thought I'd make a wish list, so that they can (at least) come up with a collection of ideas to get them thinking in the right direction.
If you're buying anything off this list, it's essential to co-ordinate with my wife - give us a shout if you need her email address - that way she can weed out any duplicates. I guess people buying me prezzies can do that OK; if not yell at me instead!
- A USB to serial converter, suitable for use with modems (ideally with a 9 pin or 25 pin d-shaped connector at the serial end) that has Mac OS X drivers. Keyspan make one which looks suitable, which they sell for $59. I don't know who their UK distributors might be.
- Silly games, such as "Star Wars: Empire at War" or "Silent Hunter". For a PC (rather than a Mac or XBox)
-
Books!
- Ransom, by Jay McInerney
- Inside eBay by Adam Cohen
- The Ordinary Person's Guide to Empire by Arundhati Roy
- A 360 Spider, 456, or a Dino. If you need to know the price, it's too much.
