On the right hand side (the Inner Rail side) there's a portal just visible, as if the line had originally gone straight and then been diverted further north. It's also visible from the right hand side of an Outer Rail train, from which it's clear that there are doors across the portal. None of my sources mention any kind of diversion or siding at this location, so does anyone have any ideas what it is? [For clarity, this is well on the Paddington side of Praed Street Junction, and it's nothing to do with the latter.] -- Clive D.W.
